Getting There
Flight from Charlotte to New Jersey, from New Jersey to Madrid, and then from Madrid to Valencia. A pretty smooth trip overall — just a one-hour delay on the NJ → Madrid leg.
From the Valencia airport, I took the metro to my hotel, which reminded me of the metro system in Tehran.
The Hotel
Nice room and a nice hotel. One detail I really liked: to turn on the lights, you must insert the door key card into a slot at the entrance; when you leave and take out the card, all the lights turn off automatically. We should adopt this in the US as well — a simple way to save energy and electricity.
The hotel restaurant was great, with good food. The olives, especially, were amazing and tasty. I wish we had them in the US!
